NFL Updates

The Raiders waived Hall on Wednesday, less than eight months after they traded for the former Pro Bowl cornerback and gave him a $70 million contract.

PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger rested his sore right shoulder on Wednesday, although his latest tests showed no additional damage, The Pittsburgh Steelers might not know until late in the week if he can play Sunday against Indianapolis.

IRVING, Texas --Tony Romo was back under center at practice Wednesday, once again zipping passes to Terrell Owens.

Expect him to be doing so the next time the Dallas Cowboys play, too.

Romo's return from a broken pinkie on his throwing hand is coming along as expected. The clunky cast he wore the last three weeks has been replaced by a small splint covering only the pinkie. It's as much for support as protection, and he wasn't even wearing it between a walkthrough and a practice Wednesday afternoon.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Sean Taylor will be inducted into the Washington Redskins Ring of Fame this month, following the first anniversary of his death.

Taylor will be honored during a pregame ceremony before the home game against the New York Giants on Nov. 30. He died at age 24 on Nov. 27, 2007, a day after he was shot by an intruder at his home in Miami.

"It's appropriate that Sean joins our Ring of Fame after a stellar career cut short far too soon," owner Dan Snyder said in a statement. "His life touched so many of us in such deep and lasting ways. His presence is all around us, in our organization and among our fans."

RENTON, Wash. -- The Seahawks expect quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to return against first-place Arizona on Nov. 16. He will miss his fifth consecutive game on Sunday at Miami while he slowly gets back into playing shape this week.

It takes a lot to win on the road in the NFL, but there are four teams that possess the ingredients necessary to pull off the difficult feat in Week 10.

The Titans, Ravens, Panthers and Giants all appear to be in position to claim road victories. The Titans travel to Chicago to square off against the Bears, the Ravens will do battle vs. the host Texans, the Panthers face the reeling Raiders and the Giants are taking on a resurgent Eagles team. Each matchup provides a unique opportunity for the visiting team to get a win.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars had a much different feel to their locker room Wednesday. There was no one playing dominoes, no one blaring music and no one watching television.

There was no Mike Peterson, either.

The question is, how many Super Bowls will the Rams win this year? I say two.

No, wait, it's not 1999
